Open to 1st-5th grades. Come and learn to make a variety of crafts. Monday, August 10 @ 4 p.m. Pasta Airplane Painting – Color a dried lasagna noodle and use it as the airplane’s wings! . Monday, August 24 @ 4 p.m. Friendship Bracelet . Bring your bestie and make a friendship bracelet together. Monday, September 21 @ 4 p.m. Apple-pie Scented Play Dough . TnT DIY: Tamagotchi Felt Keychains — Tweens and Teens

Fried Pickle Festival

Join us for the 3rd annual N. Georgia Fried Pickle Festival October 3-4, 2026 at the N. GA Fairgrounds in Dalton, GA! Classic dill pickles, fried pickles, pickle popcorn, pickle lemonade, pickle scented chap stick & body products, pickle dogs, pickle dips, pickle salsa, pickle cotton candy, pickle-themed jewelry, pickle-themed t-shirts, & SO MUCH MORE! Enjoy shopping over 200 craft & commercial vendors, food vendors, petting zoo, pony rides, inflatables, trackless train rides, face painting, games, entertainment, and more! Pickle Juice Drinking Contest Saturday @ 1:00 pm Pickle Eating Contest Sunday @ 1:00 pm Contestant must be at least 18 years old to participate.

Face Mug Workshop

The Bandy Heritage Center, Creative Arts Guild, and Prater’s Mill Foundation are proud to partner with Jayme Laney of Laney Pottery to present a Face Mug Workshop! Many people are familiar with the distinctive folk pottery tradition of face jugs, which have been made in North Georgia for nearly two centuries. The face mug workshop will provide students with the opportunity to participate in a modern twist on a historic North Georgia folk pottery tradition by gaining hands-on experience sculpting a unique face of their choice onto clay coffee mugs. This class is a morning session which will last two and a half hours total. Each student will be given a large stoneware clay mug and additional clay, and using clay sculpting tools, shown how to sculpt a face onto the mug. Each student will have the opportunity to create a face mug, which will be fired in a kiln by their instructor after the workshop and mailed to their address. All necessary equipment and supplies will be provided by the instructor. This class is suitable for ages thirteen and up; students under eighteen must have an accompanying adult present at all times. No prior knowledge of or experience with pottery making is necessary.

History, mystery, moonshine—and wine? Yes, please! This October, spend a magical evening in Northwest Georgia where crisp autumn air meets unforgettable experiences. We’ve teamed up with Dalton Distillery and Deep Springs Vineyard to bring you a night of local flavor and fall charm. Enjoy tastings of handcrafted moonshine and local wines, then take a glowing stroll through the Tunnel Hill illuminated tour, where the past comes alive in the most hauntingly beautiful way. Cap it all off with dinner under the stars and live music to set the perfect vibe for the night. Tickets are on sale now—don’t miss your chance to experience this one-of-a-kind fall evening! The event is for 21+! ID will be required before entry.

Mountain Dulcimer Workshop

The Bandy Heritage Center, Creative Arts Guild, Prater’s Mill Foundation, DSC Derrell Roberts Library, DSC Appalachian Studies minor program, and Chattanooga Fiber Arts Guild are proud to partner with Emily Jennings to present a Mountain Dulcimer Workshop! The mountain dulcimer has been a quintessential instrument in soundscapes of Southern Appalachia for centuries. Yet, it is often overshadowed by more publicly familiar instruments like the fiddle and banjo. The mountain dulcimer workshop will provide students with the opportunity to participate in a unique Northwest Georgia instrumental and musical tradition by gaining hands-on experience learning to play classic tunes on a mountain dulcimer. This class is a morning session which will last two and a half hours total. Each student will be loaned a mountain dulcimer and shown how to play basic notes to classic songs. All necessary equipment and supplies will be provided by the instructor. This class is suitable for adults eighteen and up. No prior musical knowledge or experience is necessary.

Candlewick Tufting Workshop
📍 Creative Arts Guild
The Bandy Heritage Center, Creative Arts Guild, and Prater’s Mill Foundation are proud to partner with Lee Ann Cline of Dalton State College to present a Candlewick Tufting Workshop! Many people are familiar with the story of how Catherine Evans Whitener helped launch the tufted textile industry in Northwest Georgia. But, few have had the opportunity to see or use the technique she employed to create her stunning bedspreads. The candlewick tufting workshop will provide students with the opportunity to participate in an unique Northwest Georgia embroidery and textile tradition by gaining hands-on experience handtufting a stamped pattern onto a cotton fabric square. This class is a morning session which will last two and a half hours total. Each student will be given a fabric square, embroidery hoop, cotton yarn, large sewing needle and will be shown how to tuft the pattern onto the fabric square. Each student will have the opportunity to create a tufted pattern, which students can launder in warm water at home for the final step. All necessary equipment and supplies will be provided by the instructor. This class is suitable for ages thirteen and up; students under eighteen must have an accompanying adult present at all times. No prior knowledge of or experience with sewing or embroidery is necessary.
